A Deeper Understanding & Practice God’s Word…
Leads to more intimate relationship with Christ AND a deeper, more intimate relationship with others. To fully mature in our faith we need a vital relationship with God, connectedness and relationships with fellow believers, and reaching the unconvinced in the world around us. (Ephesians 4:11-16)

The first church of Acts was devoted to the purposes of caring for one another, encouraging spiritual growth and prayer. Hebrews is filled with admonitions to include fellowship in our spiritual life. We are told to “stir up one another”, to “encourage one another”, and to “exhort one another everyday”.

God does not call us to, or even a life of “casual Christianity” or “church-dating” where we are loosely-tied to a church body and are not personally invested. Christ brought the message of salvation; we are responsible for no excuses in neglected that salvation. (Hebrews 2:2-4)

The Biblical basis for fellowship among believers is more than evident. Life groups are important at Liberty EFC for purposes of caring for one another, of growing spiritually, and time in community prayer. In Life Groups we find the encouragement we need from other believers as well the opportunities to give care and spiritual encouragement to others. Life groups are also a good avenue to reach out to the neighbors and people around us who unconvinced of their need for a Savior.

Some of our Life Groups are all of the same age and stage in life; some are a wide variety of ages and experiences. Some meet every week; some meet bi-weekly or on a schedule that works with members of their group. Some of our Life Groups are only 3-4 people. Several groups consist of 6 or more couples/singles. We encourage groups to not become larger than 10-12 people, so that everyone is important or vital to the life group or mini church family.

OUR GOAL IS THAT EVERY
ADULT AT LIBERTY IS
REGULARLY MEETING WITH AT
LEAST ONE OTHER PERSON
FOR THE PURPOSE OF…

PRAYER, CARE AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH

ROOTED IN HIS LOVE
Leaders: George & Kim Blom
Meets: Every other Sunday, 6pm
Are you ready for war? “The gods at war” video series challenges us with the thought that perhaps all sin springs from the same source, IDOLATRY. While we may not see many “graven images” in our world today, there are still countless gods passionately at war for the throne of our hear. More than anything, we want to grow in our relationship with Christ and with each other. Join us as we seek the kind of life transforming power that Christ is ready to pour out in our lives.
KING’S APPRENTICES
Leaders: Brent & Cheryl Lanser
Meets: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays, 7pm
Never the Master, Always an Apprentice. We are a bunch of servants, apprenticing under our King’s guidance. We search God’s Word together, grow in faith together and encourage one another in our daily responsibilities or walking in God’s light. We use various means to dig into God’s Word: DVD-led studies, Biblically topical studies using a book as our guide, or working our way through a book of the Bible. Join us to share the joys and sorrows of life and discovery of God’s Word to us.

GOSPEL BENEFITS
Leaders:Gary & Wendy McGinn
Meets: (New Group) TBD
We’re excited to look deeper at the Gospel pertaining to life–daily life individually, and as a church body–through the power of it in the sanctification of both. “God did not give us His gospel just so we could embrace it and be converted. Actually, He offers it to us everyday, as a gift that keeps on giving to us ‘everything we need for life and godliness’. The wise believer learns this truth early and becomes proficient in extracting available benefits from the gospel each day. We extract these benefits by being absorbed in the gospel, speaking it to ourselves when necessary and by daring to reckon it true in all we do.” -Milton Vincent “The Gospel Primer”.
LEARNING TOGETHER
Leaders: Roger & Joyce Stubbe

(Group Currently Full)
We are mostly 50’s and older Christ-followers who fellowship together to study God’s Wrod and build one another up in the faith. Have studies themes, books of the Bible with a study guide, and are looking forward to digging into a book of the Bible without a study guide this fall.
GROUP 5 ELEVEN
Leader Durk De Vries
Meets: Sunday Evenings
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thess. 5:11. We enjoy meeting together to study God’s Word together, but also for the purpose of encouragement and support of one another. Our demographics are more on the “mature” part of life. We have studied books of the Bible and used video-led studies.
IRON SHARPENS IRON
Leaders: John & Deb King
               Doug & Jodi Houtz
Meets: 1st & 3rd Sundays, 6pm
Our group is presently comprised of married couples with children at all stages. Our focus is to fellowship, to encourage and to challenge each other in our faith. Our topics of study vary depending on the groups’ need.
ALL IN
Leaders: Tim & Verna Vander Molen
Meets: (New Group) 1st & 3rd Sundays, 6pm
Have you been feeling a little distant or complacent lately? ALL IN is a video study that challenges us to take God’s Word literally by holding before us a picture of what God can do through us — and what the gospel demands of us — and then urges us to go after it. Mark Batterson calls us off the sofa and into the fight, off the cruise ship and onto the rescue boat, out of the bleachers and onto the playing field. If the fire in your heart needs to be stirred into flame we invite you to join us. We will meet the first and third Sunday of the month at 6pm — good food and fellowship with real people around God’s Word.
LIFE TOGETHER
Leaders: Ron & Melissa Brown
Meets: Every other Friday Night, 6:30pm (Group Currently Full)
A group of marrieds with growing children simply doing life together! We are currently beginning a study called “When Life is Hard” by James McDonald. Learning about life’s trials and how God uses trials to train us for good and His purposes. Our next study will be “All the Places to Go”. God rarely asks us to stay but opens doors for us to walk through…into the unknown. Where we choose to go will define who we become.
BASICs

Joe & Anna Dunham

If you are in for an imperfect journey and trying to figure things out together — this is a good place to start
