

Announcements for the week of 2/3/12:
- WORSHIP SCHEDULE: Worship Time will be from 9:30-10:40 am. Sunday School begins at 10:50 am!
-IMPORTANT NOTICE: To ensure the deductibility of your church contributions, do not file your 2011 income tax return
until you have received from the church a written acknowledgment of your contributions. Your contribution may be
not tax-deductible if you file your tax return before receiving a written acknowledgment of your contributions from
the church.
- FELLOWSHIP/PRAYER SUNDAY: February 5th will be Fellowship/Prayer Sunday. Adult Sunday school classes will
take a break from their normal classes. Children's/Youth Sunday School will meet as normal.
- BAPTISMAL SUNDAY: Believers baptism is such a power symbol of our new life in Christ. It is an important act of
obedience, as well as a public declaration of one's commitment to Christ. A Baptismal Service will be held on Sunday
morning, February 19th. If you desire to be baptized at that time, please contact the Church Office.
- AUDITORIUM WORK DAYS: We have scheduled 2 work days for the Auditorium, February 4th from 8am-noon, and
February 25th from 8am-noon! We need help putting up floor joists. All volunteers will be required to sign an
Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability form (available at the Church) before working on the Auditorium project.
The form must be signed PRIOR to picking up a hammer or contributing in any way physically to the construction
of the Auditorium. All volunteers must be at least 12 years old and volunteers, ages 12-17, must have parental
permission and supervision to participate in the construction. The release includes a section for this permission to
be granted. You are welcome to come for the entire time or for a few hours...your help will be appreciated!
- NEW LIBRARY BOOKS: We have added some new books to our library (purchased using the Branches Christian
Bookstore receipts people have turned in, thank you!!) "A Mother's Hope" and "A Daughters Dream" by Francine
Rivers. Also, "The Thorn", "The Judgment" and "The Mercy" by Beverly Lewis. Jackie VanWyk also donated her
newest book, "Family Chores Made Fun". These books are located on the desk above the typewriter.
- SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION/REGISTRATIONS: Information about 2012 Summer Camp at Hidden Acres has been
put at the Information Kiosk in the Foyer. This year Hidden Acres is offering an early registration discount of $20
for all registrations received by April 1st. Liberty will again offer 30% tuition assistance for all of the campers
attending Hidden Acres this year. Please remember to submit all registrations to the church office to receive the

- UPCOMING EVENTS AT HIDDEN ACRES: Sportsman's Retreat will be March 23-25 or March 30-31. Just You & Me,
Dad will be May 11-12. Memorial Day Family Camp will be May 25-28. Brochures/Registration Forms for all these
events can be found at our Information Kiosk in the Foyer or on their website www.hacamps.org.
- AUDITORIUM UPDATE: Check out the webpage designed to keep you updated on completing our auditorium!

PRAYER OPPORTUNITIES:
- WEDNESDAY EVENING PRAYER TIME: Join others from Liberty for a weekly time of prayer. Everyone is welcome to
attend! Wednesday evenings at 6:45pm in the Office Meeting Room. If you have a request you would like us to pray
for, please email it to the Church Office at office@libertyefree.org.
- LADIES PRAYER TIME: We invite you to join other Ladies of Liberty for a time of prayer from 7:30-8:00 pm, in the
Workroom at the Church, every third Monday of the month. If you have a prayer request and can't make it, please
let one of the Deaconesses know. The next prayer time will be Monday, February 20th.

- MEXICO SHORT TERM MISSIONS TRIP: There will be an Informational Meeting, Sunday, January 22nd, following
Sunday School in the Activity Center (by the stage). If you are interested in participating in this trip, contact
Jeff Dahm or stop by the meeting on Sunday.
- MISSIONS COMMISSION: Each month, anyone interested in Missions is invited to gather to share news and pray for
missionaries that Liberty supports. Check the Church calendar for next month's meeting in the Church Library.
- UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS: Here are two websites regarding unreached people groups: www.globalprayerdigest.org
GENERAL CHURCH INFORMATION:
- CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL: Dismisses at 11:50 am. Parents with kids 3 years old through 1st grade need to pick
up their children at their classrooms. All other kids will be dismissed to find their parents. An offering will be taken
during the Opening each Sunday to provide Bibles for Venezuelan children. If you have any questions, please
contact Pastor Jon or Jodi DeReus.
- CHECK YOUR MAILBOX & LOST AND FOUND: Many Church mailboxes and Lost and Found (on the shelving unit in the
Foyer) are accumulating many things. Please remember to check your mailbox and pull everything out by the end
of the month. Anything not picked up from Lost and Found by December 19th will be discarded or donated.
- BUILDING USAGE: Please remember to contact the Church Office to reserve an area for meetings, etc. at the Church.
- NOTE FROM LIBERTY'S LIBRARY: Please check at home to see if you have any books to be returned. Thank you!!
- EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS: Liberty regularly communicates prayer requests, announcements, etc. through email. If you
would like to receive these emails, please note it on the Connection Card in the Sunday Bulletin and drop it in the
offering plate.
- ONLINE DIRECTORY: Liberty has a secure Online Directory for all Liberty families. Once "invited" to sign up, you can
have access to our Directory 24-7. The Online Directory has replaced printed Directories, as it gives you instant
access to all changes to phone numbers, email, addresses, etc. You may download information to your address
books, sync to your mobile phone, print birthday lists, email lists, and even a PDF Directory on your own, at any time!
If you haven't received an "invitation" to the Online Directory or have questions, please contact Sam at the Office.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:
- SMALL/GROWTH GROUPS: Are an essential part of our Life @ Liberty. If you would like to be involved with a
Growth Group, please contact Brent or Cheryl Lanser, email the Church office or mark it on your Connection Card.

- WORSHIP TEAM MINISTRY: Volunteers needed for- Worship Team, AV (projects the overheads), & Sound Team
(runs sound system). If you are interested in being part of any of these teams or if you would like more information,
contact Jeff Dahm of the Church Office.
- CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES: We have opportunities available in our Children's Sunday School
Ministry for Pre-K through 6th Grade Substitute Teachers. If you are interested, please note it on your
Connection Card or contact Pastor Jon or Jodi DeReus.
- AWANA LEADERS/HELPERS: Awana Leaders work directly with clubbers in Large Group Time, Game Time, and
listening to verses. Awana meets on Wednesday evenings form 6:30-8:00 pm from September to April.
Opportunities exist with a variety of age groups including: Cubbies (3 yr. olds-preschool); Sparks (Kindergarten-
2nd Grade); T&T (3rd-6th Grade). Please contact Peter Decious!
- COFFEETIME: Each Sunday a handful of ladies diligently prepare and clean-up coffeetime. We would like to have a few
more people who can help with this ministry. If you're interested, please contact Phyllis Hackert or the Church Office.

- COLLEGE/CAREER SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS: Will be studying the Parable of the Two Sons better known as
"Prodigal Son". We'll have 6 Sunday lessons on this starting January 20th with a video. We will use "Prodigal God"
by Timothy Keller as our Bible Study guide. Books will be provided by our Liberty church, come join the discussions!

LADIES ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- SECRET SISTERS: Hopefully you have had a great year encouraging and being encouraging by your sister in Christ.
Please reveal your identity to your secret sister sometime this month. You can do this on your own as we are not
having a separate event for this year. If you have not been a part of this in the past and would like to participate
next year, we will be sending out information very soon.

- LADIES SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS: Will begin a new series on the book of Revelation by Beth Moore called "Here and
Now, There and Then", starting Sunday, January 22. Listening Guides are available at Branches Christian Bookstore
for $12.25 each. If you are not currently in the Ladies Sunday School Class and are interested in attending this
class, please let Clarice F. know.

MENS ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Liberty E-Free has many opportunities for men. These would include Bible Studies, construction teams,
retreats and more!
-FRIDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY: Meets on Friday mornings at 6:00 am. All men are invited. You can come to one or
attend all sessions!

AWANA:
- LIBERTY AWANA GRAND PRIX: Grand Prix car kits are now available to purchase for $5 for the Annual Awana
Grand Prix on Wednesday, February 29th at 6pm! Registration is free! All participants must have their car finished

- AWANA BIBLE QUIZ: Will be Saturday, February 4th (lunch and Grand Prix Race Included) at 9:00 am-3:00pm for

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- NEED FOR BABY ITEMS AT PATHWAYS OF PELLA: Pathways of Pella is the local pregnancy center that seeks to help
find an alternative to abortion. They are in great need of any winter clothes size Newborn-24 months that are new or
gently loved. They could also use baby wash/shampoo and lotion. If you could donate any of these items please
drop them off during their business hours, Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays 11 am-5 pm. Any help would be greatly
appreciated!! Thank you for all of your support! We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas season! Pathways is
located on Broadway just south of the Post Office.
