Dane became the Senior Pastor at Liberty E-Free in July of 2006. Prior to that, Dane served for 14 years as the first Senior Pastor at Harvest E-Free Church in Story City (a church plant). Dane was also the boys track coach at Roland-Story High School during that time. Dane is a graduate of Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (and earned his "doctorate" in mistake management during his first few years of ministry). Dane is responsible for the ministry of the Word at Liberty E-Free. He also works with leadership, oversees other staff, and assists with the general shepherding of the flock.
 

Family information:  Dane has been married to Donna for 23 years.  Donna is a teacher and manages a home business (Creative Memories). They have four children: Kaitlyn (College), Karissa (Junior), Kollin (Freshmen), and Kara (5th).

Things I'm thankful for:  our glorious, all-satisfying God... a marriage of 21 years... children who forgive their Dad when he doesn't model Jesus... God's undeserving grace... a wonderful church family that allows me to proclaim God's Word.

Favorite movies:  National Treasure, the Bourne trilogy, The Passion of the Christ, The Ultimate Gift, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Incredibles, anything with John Wayne, The Grinch, and watching an occasional "chick flick" with my wife.

Favorite restaurants: Lou Malnati's Pizzaria (Chicago), Hickory Park (Ames), any good BBQ restaurant.

Favorite music:  any of the Passion CD's (various artists), Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Third Day, Casting Crowns, Newsboys, S.C. Chapman, Christmas music (including Handel's Messiah).

Favorite authors:  John Piper, Joe White, Joseph Stowell, D.A. Carson, Dennis Rainey, Charles Swindoll, Warren Wiersbe.

I enjoy:  jogging, riding bikes, reading, taking walks with my wife, attending high school/college sporting events, working on the house, creating memorable moments with my children, interacting with and encouraging other Pastors.

I hope to someday: have "my car" be newer than the 1980's, visit Alaska, take each of my children on an overseas missions trip (two to go), be a better husband, go on a Canadian fishing trip.
